The Works is a charity who work closely with schools, youth groups and extended services where their aim is to help get children back into exercise whilst having fun through learning or improving with different non-traditional sports.
The charity wish to expand their provision, aiming to ensure that education can lead to apprenticeships with the aim of building motivated young people, closer communities and a stronger local economy.
This will be a solar-powered facility focused on practical skills and training rather than standard classroom learning. This building will be closely linked and complement the existing operations taking place within ‘The Works Skate Park’ next to the site.

In order to re-enforce the Charities long term vision and provide a stimulating learning environment the design has been developed to integrate appropriate sustainable construction and renewable energy solutions. Where possible these will be used as learning tools.
