Office: Spring Architects
This is a detached bungalow in the Wirral. The plot sits on the crown of a hill with view's across the town of West Kirby. The project was an extension and roof alteration of 1-bedroom bungalow and became a 2-bedroom family home.
It was always the clients' brief to salvage and retain as much of the existing fabric as possible, creating a contrast between the old and the new intervention.
We have sought to achieve a high quality architectural design in response to our clients brief, similar to recent extensions we have designed elsewhere in the vicinity. The combination of structural columns, a light weight glazed perimeter below a vernacular hipped roof will, in our opinion, enhance the existing property in a sympathetic yet contemporary manner.
