Like much of the Pennines, there is a large amount of greenspace in and around Chapeltown. The town centre has a cricketground and a wooded park on either side of it. Between Chapeltown and Bolton the land is used for residential purposes on one side of the main road and agricultural on the other.

The clients' brief was to refurbish their existing home and extend the rear of their house. This extension would accommodate a larger living/dining/kitchen spaces, bedrooms and bathrooms. A two storey garage/study would also be connected to the proposed extension.
